After much threatening, I have finally finished the Coftyran royalists. The little blue-coated Quar went from undercoat to complete and it only took me almost all day, but hey, it's putting me ahead of where I need to be if I want to really make a dent in the Pile of Opportunity...
Coftyran infantry squad, split into the rifle team (on the left) behind the Yawdryl, and the gun team (on the right) led by a Milwer (in soft hat on the left of the squad) |
I'm not totally sure what the little tins on the tops of the rucksacks are, but they're probably some kind of gas mask tin |
Both Coftyrans and Crusaders from the This Quar's War set facing off |
I changed the way I did the skin and I think the Coftyrans look quite a bit better than the Crusaders, but I do also quite like the idea that the different patterns are just a sort of local variation that crops up depending on whereabouts they're from.
The two little forces are quite fun, and I am quite taken by the funny little alien insectivores. Perhaps I'll add to them one day. But I've got a fair few figures to tackle before then! Next up are three Landsknecht ogres with hand cannons that I'm going to do up as mercenaries for my Warhammer forces (most likely the Grand Army of Wissenland).
